What Would I Love?

Have you ever asked yourself this question? How would you answer it? Would it be different depending on what was happening in your life this very minute instead of what would happen this afternoon? How would you answer it then?

What Would I Love? I was watching a video from Mary Morrisey, one of my many teachers yesterday and she talked about this question. She, like Tony Robbins, talk about asking our selves the right questions in order to improve the quality of our lives.

So many teachers tell us to "get clear" about what it is we want in our lives. And I do feel that this is a valuable exercise to do for ourselves. In fact, I do that myself a few times a year - I spend time writing down what my heart and soul truly want for my life and then I focus my intentions on those things.

However, as I was listening to Mary Morrisey propose this question - What Would I Love? I found that I answered the question a bit differently than I had when I "got clear" on what the dreams were for my life. Yes, many of the "concepts" were the same, but the feeling I got when I answered this question was different. One felt like it was a task oriented exercise and the other felt like I was truly checking in with myself- my soul, the spirit of who I really am.

I wrote down this phrase and I carried it with me throughout the day yesterday to see if my answers were different. What was interesting that my answers got very specific but they are related to the bigger concepts of what I wanted for my life at this point in time.

It definitely helped me keep my intentions and my vision clear and focused on what I want versus what I don't want in my life. Keeping your mind and heart centered on those things is one of the keys to having those things appear in your life. It might not happen in an instant, but they will come.

So, today - write this question down on a piece of paper, see what comes up for you when you answer it. Write your answers down. And then, carry it with you throughout the day. Observe and see what the answers are as you walk through your day - do they change or are they are reflection of your larger vision?

I would be curious to know what you wrote - share your thoughts with me if you like .

One of my answers was - to adopt a little boy! Doesn't that make you want to smile?

Love and Light and Hugs!

What Do I Know

What Do I Know

1.)  I know that there are "10" ways to get something accomplished.
I find myself saying this all too often these days.  As I wind down my career in the Health Care Industry and enter into my full time creative life, I struggle with getting everything accomplished that I need to in a day.  So many demands coming from every area of my life, people trying to squeeze every last ounce out of me before I leave my corporate job and my creative life is bursting at the seams for me to pay attention to it!

And so, I step back and contemplate how I can prioritize and delegate to get to the goal line of some of these tasks. Knowing that things always get done, I am reminded this morning of something I was taught by Abraham Hicks.  Write down a list and ask the Universe to handle some of the things I just can't get to.

Crazy? Yes! Does it Work! Yes! I have used this tool countless times and it works everytime!

Tony Robbins also has a great way to prioritize our lives and it's called the RPM system.
Check it out..it works well. It takes some "rethinking" on our parts, but definitely effective!

2.) I know that I am afraid to leave my corporate job but I am doing it anyway!  It's a calling that needs to be answered, that has whispered to me the quiet hours of the morning on a daily basis for five years now.  That whisper, turned into a gentle nudge and friendly reminders, then it moved itself to a voice that said "hey!" I called you to do this! In a sweet and loving way. And now, that voice is standing next to me like a strong man who lovingly but very firmly says "it's time", "come" and you know by looking in his eyes, that look of determination that burns into your soul, that you do not fight it, you submit to it.

3.) I know that I am walking into an unknown pathway that will be an amazing journey one with twists and turns that I can't even imagine right now. I am truly excited to see what is to come!

4.)  I know that the Universe/God, whatever your beliefs are has shown me in countless ways, that I am on the right track.  My friend said he will finish his edits on my book by Monday of next week.  I was introduced to a professional editor/author this week and had a great conversation with her.  It turns out we have so much in common and we really connected. I met a wonderful person yesterday, who I am delighted to help her create a new look for herself  and I have guests in the house that were only to stay two nights, who have turned into family and are staying for two weeks. We are sharing our lives together for a short time and it is truly wonderful to be exposed to their culture, taste the food they are preparing and listen to the stories of life in China.

5.) I know that I am grateful everyday for life's blessings that are bestowed upon me everyday!

My Dear Readers,  say thank you everyday! Listen to that still small voice that becomes a strong scream in your heart! Keep moving forward, don't look back unless it makes you smile.

Realms of Grace

My Dearest Readers,

How have you been? Has your life been in a season of winter, fall, spring or summer?  What do I mean by that? Well, it is something I learned from a great teacher of mine Tony Robbins.  The seasons represent periods of our lives.

As I reflect over the last few months of my life, I have to say it has felt like winter for sure, with overriding feelings of depression and sadness as my mother struggled for life in a hospital bed.   The roller coaster of emotions was amazingly intense, too intense actually. Nothing else mattered but to do everything I could to save her life. I knew her time was not up yet and I was determined to see that it wasn't.  Yes, I know that God is the only one that determines the fate of our lives but the control freak, type A personality  that I have somehow wanted to believe I could play a part in His orchestra.

I am happy to say that she is recovering at home now and seems to be doing well. A gift of Grace for sure!  I pray everyday that she regains strength so that she will be with her family for another 20 years.

Most of my friends would tell you that sadness and depression are not emotions that would describe me. More like vibrant, alive, fun loving, energetic are the words they would use.  So, you could imagine how off balance I felt and how desperate I have been to come away from all of that and once again, feel happy and hopeful.

At the same time, I have to say there have been times of spring, meeting the  people that have walked through the front door as I began opening my house to guests through AirBnB.  AirBnB is an international website that allows people to stay in others homes for a fee, much like a Bed and Breakfast.  I began having guests in my home just about the same time my mother went in for her hip surgery in early May.  I have hosted folks from Germany, Indonesia, Russia, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Oregan, Michigan, New York, New Hampshire, Texas and Ireland.  This diversion from my mother's illness , although requiring physical energy was a breath of fresh air.  Each guest brought a richness to my life as they shared their lives and their stories with me.  The guests who were more outgoing and talkative came to me as I needed the message they shared and their companionship.  The quieter folks, entered the door as I needed my personal space and time for reflection.

It was challenging to manage my full time job, taking care of my mother and having guests in my home.  At times, I wondered if I had the energy to make it through a full day, but I did, by the mere grace of God.  And I thank God that he blessed me with the priviledge of having met these people.

And there were those that showed me signs of summer, of protection. My darling and dear friends, who never, ever,  let me stay down for too long and held me up when I needed the strength of their arms and shoulders.  The texts that came in day, after day, hour after hour from each one of them was like an invisible net of love letting me know they were there in spirit even if they couldn't be there physically.  The hugs that came each time I saw them made life a bit easier to deal with.  You know who you are my friends, my love to you forever and always.  You all have showed me what true friendship is.  That true friendship never leaves us even in the darkest of times when you can't see the way out. These are the arms of grace that embrace.

The autumn has come upon myself and my family , not only from the temperature outside but from the love that bonded us together during this time.  Old wounds started to heal as forgiveness was offered as a gift to each other as my mom's life was held in the balance.  Courage came upon my sister to start life anew in Florida. My father has joined our family once again and in some odd way, I feel, he has taken his rightful seat at the table. For this , I am grateful as it feels like a weight has been lifted and all is in harmony once again with our family.  Grace has bestowed her fragrance upon us.
